Description
A seasonal burger celebrating the flavors of fall with apples, spices, and melted cheddar cheese.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef or plant-based burger
- 1 medium apple, diced
- 1/2 cup apple cider
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 4 whole wheat burger buns
- 4 slices cheddar cheese
- Lettuce leaves for garnish
- Sliced tomatoes for garnish
- Optional: red onion slices
Instructions
- Create the glaze: In a small saucepan, combine the apple cider, brown sugar, diced apple, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer over medium heat. Allow it to reduce for about 10 minutes until it thickens slightly.
- Prepare the patties: While the glaze simmers, shape the ground beef into four equal patties, seasoning them generously with salt and pepper.
- Cook the patties: Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for approximately 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.
- Melt the cheese: During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and cover it to allow the cheese to melt perfectly.
- Toast the buns: Carefully toast the whole wheat buns on the grill for 1-2 minutes until warm and crisp.
- Assemble the burgers: Begin with the toasted bun, layer on the patty topped with melted cheddar, drizzle with the warm apple-cider glaze, and add fresh lettuce and tomatoes.
- Serve and savor: Enjoy your Harvest Moon Burger immediately while the flavors meld beautifully.
Notes
You can prepare the glaze a day in advance to save time. Adjust toppings to your liking for a customized experience.
